The following post was initially sent to a client whose name I shall only disclose if only they want me to. But dear A.S.B. my friend, you have made this post possible with your query. I thank you openly for this.
Hi bro,
Let me explain that to you. The active ingredient in your pre-workout concoctions is mainly caffeine. Other substances on the side are for other functions. Now I am going to explain this to you with two examples: Why I prefer Pre Workout on weight training days and a Fat Burner on cardio days, whereas caffeine pills are usable on any given day if either of the two falls out of the budget.
Talking about the budget, the fat burner pills cost up to 20rs a serving usually, the pre-workouts cost ~60-70rs a serving, and the caffeine pill of 200mg costs around 10 bucks max a pill. The 200mg of caffeine being the active stimulant is considered to be a threshold for many to feel something or let us say anything whatsoever from their before the exercise supplement and usually, a serving on the label might be more than a pill or a scoop alone for multiple reasons:
- The companies want to fool you into thinking you are getting more servings for fewer rates
- The dosages can be adjusted for those who are extremely sensitive to stimulants
- Because the one making the label was a frigging idiot that’s why
So let’s say that drinking a “Pre Workout” before cardio sessions might be a waste as most might cost up to 60-70rs a serving and also they have stuff primed towards your weight training sessions. So let’s say the Creatine in those might give pumps which are painfully uncomfortable and might not allow me to go on much on an elliptical machine aka cross trainer, or pump up my calves way too much on a treadmill. (This is all first-hand experience by the way)
Now let us come to the Fat Burners aka ECA stack. ECA means Ephedrine Caffeine and Aspirin, but the term is used interchangeably with fat burners till date, as it was called initially. Many also contain Yohimbine, for example, to improve blood flow to the stubborn areas and block the specific receptors which stop your body from releasing fat into the bloodstream to be burnt for fuel. While this may seem to be lucrative of a reason to add a fat burner to your PUSH IT concoction but yohimbine especially might shoot heart rate way too much at those highly intensive workouts making you feel like you are going to puke your heart out of your mouth.
Phew! So what’s the final verdict? Yes, you can have caffeine pills or coffee in case your budget doesn’t allow you or if simply you don’t want to catch mommy’s attention with her Belan.
Let me tell you though. Mg per mg basis coffee costs same as caffeine pills do or sometimes even more (yes I am talking of instant powdered coffee from Nestle’s Nescafe) so if mommy’s Belan is not the concern I would suggest you to go for the pills instead. More convenient and well perhaps cheaper while being the same price.
Regards,
Nipun

Subject: Query encountered in pdf.
Hello Nipun bhai....
I'm having a query regarding the caffeine pills or fat burner as it is mentioned in the pdf sent. My question can I replace caffeine pills with a cup of black coffee in the pre-workout for the morning workout session??? Also, I'm confused regarding the use of the workout log calculator. Please explain it in detail.
